Beyonc's new UK release: her fashion range... and she's flying in to launch it

Beyonce revealed a sneak preview today of pieces from her new fashion range for the British market.

In the singer's first design foray outside North America, she is set to launch her autumn/winter collection in person at Selfridges in Oxford Street next month.

She is pictured modelling tribal-prints with hot pants, echoing her stage outfits at Glastonbury in June. Whether the pieces will please the fashion-savvy remains to be seen - the close-fitting samples in vibrant colours are somewhat out of line with this season's simplistic silhouette and palette. But they are certain to delight her fans.

Prices for the collection, from Beyonc's House of Deron label - started with her mother, Tina Knowles, in 2004 - will start at about 80. The launch will be during London Fashion Week, from September 16-21.

Selfridges will stock the range exclusively for six weeks before some lines go into other shops in October, including the new Fashion Rocks flagship store at Westfield Stratford City, which opens on September 13.

The House of Deron was named after Beyonc's grandmother Agnz Deron, and the label has the slogan Couture.Kick.Soul, representing the three generations of women - Agnz being the "soul", Tina Knowles the "couture" and Beyonc, 29, the "kick".

Tina Knowles said of the collection: "Beyonc and I are so proud of the line-up. We can't wait to see the consumer's response and how she makes it her own."
